James M. Janousek, II, is a native of Live Oak, Florida. After graduating from Suwannee High School in 2000, Mr. Janousek attended Florida State University where he received his Bachelor of Science. Upon graduation from FSU, Mr. Janousek attended Florida Coastal School of Law and received his Juris Doctor in 2007.
Mr. Janousek returned to his hometown in the winter of 2007 when he was hired as an Assistant Public Defender for the Third Judicial Circuit. While at the Public Defender’s Office Mr. Janousek was responsible for handling various cases ranging from misdemeanors, DUI’s, traffic offenses, juvenile criminal offenses, felonies, and violations of probation.
In 2012, Mr. Janousek left the Public Defender's Office to enter the private sector in hopes of providing more individualized service to his clients. In June of 2014, Mr. Janousek opened the Law Office of James Janousek, P.A.
Mr. Janousek is a member of the Third Circuit Bar Association. Since 2008, he has annually volunteered with the Live Oak Police Department's Teen Police Academy, instructing students on the defense aspects of the criminal justice system. Mr. Janousek also volunteers as a mentor in the Florida's Take Stock in Children Program, which offers low income students the opportunity to earn college scholarships. Mr. Janousek is also a member of First Baptist Church of Live Oak, Florida, and volunteers with their AWANA youth program.
